Project 1: Rural landscape, Landscape structures & plants in landscape presentation
For this project, presentation slides need to be produced base on the topic given. The given research topic is rural landscape, landscape structures & plants in landscape.
Through this project, brief understanding about landscape architecture and terminologies have been attained. The principles of designing landscape and also types of plants for each different type of landscape structure have been introduced too. On the other hand, there are man-made structures of different functions, such as infrastructure in playgrounds and parks.
Project 2: Landscape Design Project
Project 2 is integrated with Design studio 4, that is to design a garden.
An open air art gallery garden is designed to compatible with Design studio 4’s Nature Appreciation Community Center,
The concept is to approach sustainable landscape design to promote nature appreciation. According to the site issues, which is unorganized landscape, that is essential to redesign the hard scape and soft scape of the garden, thus there are wooden platforms and pebble pavements lead to the garden gallery. For the choices of plants, plain colour tones flowers are chosen so that it wouldn’t distract users’ attention on art pieces. Besides that, evergreen plants and plants that require low maintenance to ensure are selected as well because it is easy to take care of. There are also plants that serve as shading devices to promote green design. Mosaic pavements are to reduce storm water runoff and pergola are installed to shade the occupants.
