Project 1: Famous People, Familiar Faces-
Diagrammatic Abstraction
A preliminary study to get familiar with the famous architects and their works.
The young renowned architect, Sou Fujimoto and his work are selected as the group's precedent study.
A series of analytic diagrams, drawings, model and video have been produced, and Sou Fujimoto's philosophy of primitive future has been one of the impressive dogmas for me since then.
Project 2A : Site Analysis & Site Scanning
A site analysis is conducted in Cameron Highland Tea Plantation, Pahang prior to the design stage of retreat house.
The Boh tea center which located on the site is selected as the case study to further our understanding in local tea drinking culture.
Project 2B : Tea for two
Tea for two: A warm up exercise before the final project
Into the woods- A 3x3x3m tea drinking pavilion sitting amidst the tea valley,
with the concept of embrace nature in a playful way. It is inspired by the action of pushing away the tea bushes, and imagine self as a shrunken-scaled individual, and start the journey of exploring in tea bushes.
Project 2C : Retreat House
Moving on from the previous project, the Alice in Wonderland Tea House is a 400 m2 retreat house located amidst the Cameron Highland tea valleys. The concept of the tea house is as playful as before: Alice's journey of growing up- the dilemma and challenges she faced, the emotions and feelings are all translated into spatial expressions.
